The Unholy tells the story of Alice (Cricket Brown), a young hearing-impaired girl. After a supposed visitation from the Virgin Mary, Alice is inexplicably able to hear, speak and heal the sick. As word spreads and people from near and far flock to witness her miracles, a journalist (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) hoping to revive his career visits the small New England town to investigate. But when terrifying events begin to happen, he starts to question if these phenomena are the works of the Virgin Mary or something much more sinister. Startattle.com – The Unholy 2021.

Principal photography for the film commenced in Boston in February 2020. On March 14, 2020, filming was suspended because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
