Shrill is an American comedy streaming television series, based on the book Shrill: Notes from a Loud Woman by Lindy West, that premiered on March 15, 2019, on Hulu. In April 2019, the series was renewed for a second season that premiered on January 24, 2020. In March 2020, the series was renewed for an eight episode third season. In January 2021, it was reported that the third season will be the final season. In February 2021, it was announced that the third and final season will premiere on May 7, 2021.
Shrill follows “Annie, described as an overweight young woman who wants to change her life – but not her body. Annie is trying to make it as a journalist while juggling bad boyfriends, sick parents and a perfectionist boss, while the world around her deems her not good enough because of her weight. She starts to realize that she’s as good as anyone else, and acts on it.”
