HELD tells the story of a couple whose ailing marriage is put to the test when they are held hostage in an isolated high-end smart home by an unseen ‘Voice’ that commands their every move. Startattle.com – Held 2021.
This horror thriller film is directed by filmmakers Travis Cluff (Gold Fools) and Chris Lofing, who also co-directed the films The Gallows and The Gallows Act II. The screenplay is written by Jill Awbrey, who also stars in the film opposite Bart Johnson.

Held 2021
Emma and Henry’s marriage is losing its spark. In an effort to reconnect, they vacation to a remote high-end rental, complete with automated smart house features and integrated security. But after suspecting a nighttime intruder, they decide to leave, only to become forcibly trapped by the automated security system. Emitting from the house, an unknown ‘Voice’ watches their every move through hidden cameras, revealing an intimate knowledge of their relationship. While the situation grows increasingly brutal, Emma and Henry must work together to uncover the truth and find a way out before it’s too late.
Held is produced by Travis Cluff, Kyle Gentz, and Chris Lofing. The film premiered at Frightfest on October 21, 2020. It will be released by Magnolia Pictures in select US theaters and on VOD on April 9, 2021.
