City of Lies is a thriller revealing a never-before-seen look at the infamous murder of The Notorious B.I.G. shortly following the death of Tupac. Its screenplay is written by Christian Contreras, based on the book LAbyrinth by Randall Sullivan, about the murder investigations of Tupac Shakur and The Notorious B.I.G. The film stars Johnny Depp, Forest Whitaker, Rockmond Dunbar, and Neil Brown Jr..

City of Lies is produced by Miriam Segal, Paul Brennan and Stuart Manashil. The film was originally set to be released on September 7, 2018 and was screened out of competition at the Noir in Festival on December 8, 2018. The provocative thriller received a limited release in Italy on January 10, 2019.
The film is set to be released in select US theaters on March 19, 2021 and on PVOD on April 9, 2021.
