The nineteenth season of the reality show singing competition American Idol premiered on February 14, 2021 on the ABC television network. It is the fourth season to air on ABC since the series reboot; Ryan Seacrest returns as host. Katy Perry, Luke Bryan, and Lionel Richie return as judges and Bobby Bones as mentor.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic in the United States, the show offered its first ever live virtual auditions to aspiring contestants through its Idol Across America program using custom-built Zoom technology. The remote auditions took place from August 10 to October 28, 2020 in 50 states plus Washington, D.C. as well as a number of open call auditions, and from these the producers selected the contestants who can then audition in front of the judges.
“Bust Your Windows” is a song from Jazmine Sullivan’s debut album Fearless. The song was available as a digital download in the U.S. in September 2008 and was later released as a promo CD in November 2008, after it was sent to radio stations for airplay around the U.S.. The song was nominated in the Best R&B Song category for 2009’s Grammy Awards.
