The Robin was unmasked during the Finale on The Masked Singer UK (Series 2). His identity was revealed after he came in third place in the reality singing competition. Before he was unmasked, the Robin performed “For Once in My Life” by Stevie Wonder.
A lot of The Masked Singer UK fans correctly guessed who the Robin is prior to his unmasking. Rita Ora, Davina McCall, Mo Gilligan and guest judge Nicola Roberts also made the correct guess as to Robin’s identity.

Robin was revealed as English singer, dancer, television personality and actor Aston Merrygold (age 33), best known for being a member of the British boy band JLS and for becoming a judge on the British dance talent show Got to Dance in 2013.

Robin said the rest of his JLS bandmates did not know that he joined The Masked Singer although he revealed in an interview with The Sun that his bandmates were suspicious and were texting him about it.
The clues for Robin were explained after the reveal. Aston said that the football stuff was a reference to his journey as a football player in secondary school and that he started singing only when he was 16 or 17. His clue song “Rockin’ Robin” was his song in the talent show Stars in Their Eyes, where he appeared as Michael Jackson. The 17 million people he performed in front of was because of the Queen’s Jubilee. The UFO poster was a reference to JLS originally being called “UFO”. “This Robin is known for being blue” was a clue to each member of JLS having a colour – Aston’s was blue. JLS performed in Albert Square for “Children in Need” hence the sign in his clue VT. “My name fits like a glove” was a hint to Aston’s surname Merrygold sounding like a Marigold. The swingball in his clue VT was a nod to JLS standing for “Jack the Lad Swing.”
The second series of the British version of The Masked Singer premiered on ITV on December 26, 2020.
Joel Dommett, Jonathan Ross, Davina McCall, and Rita Ora all returned for their second season as host and panelists. Ken Jeong was replaced by British comedian Mo Gilligan on the panel for series two, due to travel restrictions from the COVID-19 pandemic which prevented Jeong’s participation.
The series featured 12 contestants, namely Alien, Badger, Blob, Bush Baby, Dragon, Grandfather Clock, Harlequin, Robin, Sausage, Seahorse, Swan, and Viking.
