The Exotic Bird was unmasked during the Top Five night on Week 6 of The Masked Dancer Season 1 (2021).
Before the reveal, Exotic Bird danced to “Opposites Attract” by Paula Abdul. The Exotic Bird got the least amount of votes among the Top Five contestants and she was eventually eliminated from the reality competition. Startattle.com – The Masked Dancer.
Some fans of The Masked Dancer knew who Exotic Bird was prior to her unmasking. Among the panelists, Paula Abdul and Ashley Tisdale were able to correctly guess the celebrity behind the Exotic Bird mask.
So who is Exotic Bird on The Masked Dancer?
The Exotic Bird was revealed as Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter and actress Jordin Sparks, who is best known as the winner of American Idol Season 6 and the youngest winner in the series’ history.
Prior to her unmasking, Exotic Bird answered the questions from the panelists.
The Exotic Bird answered Brian Austin Green that she is defiinitely taller than Ken Jeong. She replied to Ashley Tisdale that she is used to performing in front of large crowds and small ones too. She answered “Maybe,” when Ken asked her if she had won any major award. She told guest panelist Mayim Bialik that she had been on the cover of a magazine. She replied “Girl, yes,” when asked by Paula if they have met before.
Ken Jeong previously thought Exotic Bird was American professional tennis player Venus Williams or American model and actress Kate Upton. But the number 23 jersey “sealed it,” he said. Ken said Exotic Bird is from Chicago, and because of her song choice, he thinks she definitely worked with Paula on American Idol. Ken Jeong thinks Exotic Bird is Oscar winner and American Idol finalist Jennifer Hudson.
Mayim Bialik described Exotic Bird as a “statuesque woman with a presence”. Thinking about the clues Santa Claus and Christmas Eve, Mayim thinks Exotic Bird is American rapper, singer-songwriter, actress, and television presenter Eve.
Brian Austin Green initially thought Exotic Bird was an athlete of some sort and guessed that she could be American former soccer goalkeeper Hope Solo. But Exotic Bird’s stance and the model airplane clue, made Brian stick to his guess that she is American plus-size model and television presenter Ashley Graham.
Paula Abdul said her gut has always been serving her right. “My gut instinct is that you are the magnificent, incredible Jordin Sparks. I hope you are,” she said.
Ashley Tisdale said she initially thought Exotic Bird could be American tattoo artist, model, entrepreneur, and television personality Kat Von D because the beauty and perfume stood out to her. Thinking about the clue of someone who just had a baby, she was also excited about the possibility of Exotic Bird being American media personality, socialite, producer and businesswoman Khloe Kardashian. But the fact that Exotic Bird knew Paula and Paula is good at guessing, Ashley jumped on her train and went with Jordin Sparks.

Jordin Sparks said that when she learned that Paula would be one of the panelists, she was like, “Paula knows me. She knows. (To Paula) You know how I am on stage. All of that stuff and I love you so much. So I was like, she’s gonna know it’s me.”
Asked what it was like being Exotic Bird, Jordin said, “It was great. It was freeing. I could just be anonymous and I love to dance but doing it on stage like this, is something I never thought that I could do. And also that I can show my son that it’s okay to do things that scare you sometimes.”
Clues about the Exotic Bird were explained after the reveal. Bernie Sanders appeared because he was elected Senator in 2007 – the same year that Jordin won American Idol. The tatoo was a clue to Jordin’s song, “Tattoo.” The number 6 in Exotic Bird’s performance was a clue to her winning Season 6 of American Idol. Jordin said the number 17 was a reference to winning American Idol when she was 17.
Jordin Sparks (age 31) is one of the most successful American Idol contestants of all time, with 1.3 million albums and 10.2 million singles sold in the United States alone, as of February 2012. In 2009, Billboard magazine ranked her as the 91st Artist of the 2000s Decade. She has received several accolades in her career including an NAACP Image Award, a BET Award, an American Music Award, a People’s Choice Award and two Teen Choice Awards. She has ventured into acting and has starred on films, television shows, and Broadway.
The Masked Dancer is an American reality competition television series that premiered on Fox on December 27, 2020. Craig Robinson hosts the show, with Ken Jeong, Paula Abdul, Brian Austin Green, and Ashley Tisdale serving as panelists. Like The Masked Singer’s format, celebrity contestants wear head-to-toe costumes and face masks that conceal their identities, but perform alongside a “masked partner”. The show began as a recurring segment on Ellen DeGeneres’ daytime talk show which spoofed The Masked Singer.
