The Blob was unmasked during Episode 6 on The Masked Singer UK (Series 2). His identity was revealed after he was eliminated from the reality singing competition along with Viking, on January 30, 2021. Startattle.com – The Masked Singer UK.
Before he was unmasked, the Blob peformed “Addicted to Love” by Robert Palmer and landed in the bottom three along with Dragon and Viking. Dragon won the round while Viking and Blob were eliminated from The Masked Singer UK.
So who is the Blob on The Masked Singer UK 2021?
Blob was revealed as British stand-up comedian, actor, singer, writer and television presenter Sir Lenny Henry (age 62), best known for co-founding the charity Comic Relief, and for appearing in television programmes including “Tiswas”, “Chef!” and “The Magicians” for BBC One. He is currently a cast member of Amazon Prime’s upcoming series “Lord of the Rings.”
Some fans of The Masked Singer fans correctly guessed who the Blob is prior to his unmasking. Davina McCall was the only judge who was able to guess his identity correctly.

Sir Lenny Henry said that playing from Shakespeare to Blob is a huge career arc. Asked why he decided to be Blob, Henry replied, “I’ve been in lockdown since March. So they said come and do this and I was like, Yes okay I’ll come. So to be here with people and have them be so lovely, to be listening to the panel and to seeing you guys, it’s been a joy to be here.”
The clues for Blob were explained after the reveal. “The Moor clues you’re hearing” was a clue to Lenny playing the role of Othello in the West End. The word “waists” is an anagram of “Tiswas”, the show which launched his presenting career. The pictures of clowns were a reference to his dedicated work for Comic Relief on Red Nose Day. The song “Hotel Room Service” was a nod to the various hotel adverts Lenny has starred in.
The second series of the British version of The Masked Singer premiered on ITV on December 26, 2020.
Joel Dommett, Jonathan Ross, Davina McCall, and Rita Ora all returned for their second season as host and panelists. Ken Jeong was replaced by British comedian Mo Gilligan on the panel for series two, due to travel restrictions from the COVID-19 pandemic which prevented Jeong’s participation.
The series features 12 contestants, namely Alien, Badger, Blob, Bush Baby, Dragon, Grandfather Clock, Harlequin, Robin, Sausage, Seahorse, Swan, and Viking.
