Walker is an American television series airing on The CW. It is a reboot of the 1993-2001 television series “Walker, Texas Ranger”. The series was ordered straight to series in January 2020 and premiered on January 21, 2021. In February 2021, the series was renewed for a second season.
Jared Padalecki stars as Cordell Walker, a widower and father of two with his own moral code. He returns home to Austin after being undercover for two years, only to discover there’s harder work to be done at home. Walker will attempt to reconnect with his son (Kale Culley) and his headstrong, somewhat rebellious teenaged daughter (Violet Brinson). He will also navigate clashes with his family – an ADA brother (Keegan Allen) who stepped in during Walker’s absence, his mother (Molly Hagen) and his father (Mitch Pileggi). Walker’s former colleague is now his Ranger Captain, (Coby Bell).
Walker will find common ground with his new partner (played by Lindsey Morgan), while growing increasingly suspicious about the circumstances surrounding his wife’s death. The show also stars Jeff Pierre as Trey Barnett.
The series is written and executive produced by Anna Fricke, Dan Lin, Lindsay Liberatore, Jared Padalecki and Jessica Yu. Walker is from CBS Television Studios in association with Rideback.
