The Winter Lake follows Holly (Emma Mackey), whose dark secret is accidentally uncovered by her new emotionally unstable neighbor Tom (Anson Boon). Holly and Tom are both pulled into a violent confrontation with Holly’s father (Michael McElhatton) who will do anything to keep Tom silent and their family secret buried. The Winter Lake is produced by Ruth Treacy and Julianne Forde, with Anne-Marie Gélinas as co-producer. This film premiered at the Galway Film Fleadh in July 2020. It also played at the Cinéfest Sudbury International Film Festival in September 2020 and at the Newport Beach Film Festival in October 2020.
Phil Sheerin’s The Winter Lake is set to be released by Epic Pictures in select US theaters on March 5, 2021 and on VOD on March 9, 2021.
