The Vault (aka Way Down) follows Thom Laybrick (Freddie Highmore), an engineer who joins a crew of master thieves who plan to steal the legendary lost treasure locked inside an impenetrable safe hidden under The Bank of Spain, while the whole country is distracted by Spain’s World Cup Final. This film was supposed to open in Spain last year, but its release has been delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Vault is set to be released in select US theaters and on VOD on March 26, 2021.
English actor Freddie Highmore (age 28) is known for his roles in the films Finding Neverland, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, August Rush, and The Spiderwick Chronicles. He won two consecutive Critics’ Choice Movie Awards for Best Young Performer. He also starred as Norman Bates in the series Bates Motel (2013-2017), for which he was nominated three times for the Critics’ Choice Television Award for Best Actor in a Drama Series and won a People’s Choice Award. In 2017, Highmore began producing and starring as Dr. Shaun Murphy in the drama series The Good Doctor, for which he was nominated for the Golden Globe Award for Best Actor.
