American actress, director and author Alison Sweeney (age 44) portrays Alex McPherson. Sweeney is best known for her portrayal of Samantha “Sami” Brady on the soap opera Days of Our Lives, for which she has earned a Daytime Emmy Award nomination, four Soap Opera Digest Awards and a Fan Voted Daytime Emmy Award. She became the host of The Biggest Loser in its fourth season (2007), and left the series at the end of the sixteenth season in 2015. She starred in several Hallmark TV movies including Second Chances (aka Hearts on Fire), Love on the Air, The Irresistible Blueberry Farm, Christmas At Holly Lodge, Time For You To Come Home for Christmas, Good Morning Christmas, and several movies in the Hallmark tv film series “Murder, She Baked” and “Chronicle Mysteries.”
Canadian actor Benjamin Ayres (age 44) is best known for his roles in the television series Dan for Mayor, Saving Hope, and Less Than Kind. Aside from the Chronicle Mysteries series, Ayres has also appeared in several Hallmark original movies including Love By Chance, Falling for Vermont, Emma Fielding Mysteries, and A Blue Ridge Mountain Christmas.
