Before she was unmasked, the Popcorn peformed “Better Be Good to Me” by Tina Turner, and lost to the Sun for a chance to get to the finale.
Many fans of The Masked Singer already guessed who the Popcorn was prior to her unmasking.
So who is the Popcorn on The Masked Singer?
Popcorn was revealed as American singer, songwriter, and actress Taylor Dayne. Among the judges / panelists, Jenny McCarthy, Nicole Scherzinger and guest panelist Craig Robinson was able to guess who Popcorn was.
Nick Cannon said that except for Nicole Scherzinger, all of the panelists had the same first impression guess. Nicole Scherzinger’s first impression guess was legendary American singer and actress Diana Ross, but everyone else on the panel thought Popcorn was Tina Turner.
Nicole Scherzinger changed her guess from Tina Turner to Taylor Dayne based on the New York vibe and the clues like S– in the City and Matzah (Matzo) ball. But what gave it away is Popcorn’s tone. So, Nicole agreed with Jenny McCarthy that Popcorn is Taylor Dayne.
Robin Thicke stuck with his guess that Popcorn is Tina Turner because of her voice and her legs.
Jenny McCarthy praised Popcorn for her breathtaking, powerful voice. She knows that Popcorn is a legend and said she grew up listening to the celebrity behind Popcorn. The clues like crimped hair and Rubik’s cube only reinforced her belief that Popcorn is Taylor Dayne.
Ken Jeong did not change his first impression guess that Popcorn is Tina Turner. He said he does not know who can sing better than Tina Turner, the Queen of Rock and Roll. According to Ken, the stop sign was a clue for the Unstoppable Tina Turner.
Guest panelist Craig Robinson enumerated the clues that seem to point to the Supremes, but he ultimately agreed with Jenny and Nicole that Popcorn is Taylor Dayne.

Taylor Dane said she had a ball on The Masked Singer. “Nobody understands how amazing this show is,” she said. Asked what the best part of her experience was on the show, Taylor replied, “The creativity here, guys, your magic between all of you up here.” As the panelists praised Taylor, she couldn’t help but cry. She divulged that the panelists made her cry so many times and joked that she loves Nick Cannon and asked if he can handle two Long Island girls.
Clues about the Popcorn were explained after the reveal. The cats are a clue to Taylor’s starring role in the musical “Cats.” The Matzo Ball soup with bunny ears is a nod to Taylor’s victory over Joey Fatone on the show “Celebrity Cook-off” and her winning dish. The heart monitor is a hint to Taylor’s hit song “With Every Beat of My Heart.”
Taylor Dayne (age 58) rose to fame in 1987 after her debut single “Tell It to My Heart”. She achieved seven additional U.S. top-10 singles, including “Love Will Lead You Back”, “Don’t Rush Me”, “I’ll Always Love You”, “I’ll Be Your Shelter”, “With Every Beat of My Heart” and “Prove Your Love”. She has won three Grammy Award nominations, an American Music Award, and multiple New York Music Awards. She was ranked number 18 on Rolling Stone’s list of the best female dance artists of all time.
The fourth season of the American television series The Masked Singer premiered on Fox on September 23, 2020. Nick Cannon, singer-songwriter Robin Thicke, television and radio personality Jenny McCarthy, actor and comedian Ken Jeong, and recording artist Nicole Scherzinger all returned for their fourth season as host and panelists.
The panelists also engaged in a competition for the Golden Ear in this season. After each masked singer performed for the first time along with an initial clue package, each panelist wrote their first impressions-based guess at the identity of the celebrity. Those guesses were revealed after each celebrity was unmasked, with the panelists scoring a point for each celebrity they got correct from their initial first impression. The panelist with the most correct answers will win the Golden Ear.
