The Disco Ball was unmasked during the premiere of The Masked Dancer Season 1 on December 27, 2020.
Before he was unmasked, the Disco Ball peformed to “Uptown Funk” by Mark Ronson ft. Bruno Mars. The Disco Ball got the least amount of votes among the Masked Dancers who were presented during the premiere which included Hammerhead, Tulip, Cricket, and Exotic Bird. No one among the panelists/judges was able to guess who Disco Ball is.
So who is the Disco Ball on The Masked Dancer?
The Disco Ball was revealed as American rapper, actor, songwriter, and producer Ice-T.
Prior to the reveal, Disco Ball answered the questions from the panelists. He said that Paula Abdul could have seen him on the big or small screen, that Ken Jeong possibly heard him on the radio, that he has won an award other than a Grammy, and that he was famous in the 90s.
Brian Austin Green said that based on the clue showing a shark fin in the fountain, he thinks Disco Ball is in the movie Deep Blue Sea. Because of the Grammy clue, he thinks that the celebrity behind Disco Ball has hosted the Grammys a few times. Green guessed that Disco Ball is LL Cool J.
Ken Jeong thinks Disco Ball is a veteran and a Grammy legend. He said that during the performance, he saw Motown moves. He made a guess that Disco Ball is Smokey Robinson.
Paula Abdul took note of Disco Ball doing an army salute. She ventured that Disco Ball is Ving Rhames, who did a lot of army movies and has appeared on film and television.
Ashley Tisdale based her guess on the clue of a gavel, which made her think of MC Hammer and of a tv judge. Since Disco Ball also said “can’t slow down” and “all night long”, Tisdale concluded he could be Lionel Richie because those are titles of Lionel’s famous songs.

Ice-T said joining The Masked Dancer is the craziest thing he has ever done. He said that when he watched The Masked Singer and saw rappers Lil Wayne and Busta Rhymes getting unmasked, he knew he will get a call eventually. Ice-T said he is very excited to be on The Masked Dancer. “This is very cool, fun experience,” he said.
Clues about the Disco Ball were explained after the reveal. The glass of iced tea is in reference to Ice-T’s name. He explained to Brian that his salute is in reference to his 4 years in military service as part of the 25th Infantry division.
Ice-T (age 62) founded the record label Rhyme $yndicate Records (named after his collective of fellow hip-hop artists called the “Rhyme $yndicate”). His album, Power, went on to go Platinum. He also released several other albums that went Gold. Ice-T also co-founded the heavy metal band Body Count. Since 2000, he has portrayed NYPD Detective/Sergeant Odafin Tutuola on the NBC police drama Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. In 2018, he began hosting the true crime documentary, In Ice Cold Blood, on the Oxygen cable channel.
The Masked Dancer is an American reality competition television series that premiered on Fox on December 27, 2020. Craig Robinson hosts the show, with Ken Jeong, Paula Abdul, Brian Austin Green, and Ashley Tisdale serving as panelists. Like The Masked Singer’s format, celebrity contestants wear head-to-toe costumes and face masks that conceal their identities, but perform alongside a “masked partner”. The show began as a recurring segment on Ellen DeGeneres’ daytime talk show which spoofed The Masked Singer.
The series features 10 contestants who have sold more than 38 million albums worldwide, 20 Emmy Awards wins, 20 Grammy nominations, 10 World Dancing titles, five New York Times Best-Selling Author titles, four Olympic gold medals, and three apoearances in Broadway shows.
