The Vigil follows a former Hassid named Yakov (Dave Davis), as he accepts a position as a “shomer,” hired to sit and watch over the body of a deceased member of his former Orthodox Jewish community. Shortly after arriving at the dilapidated house, Yakov realizes that something is very wrong. Soon, he is targeted by a malevolent spirit known as a dybbuk. Startattle.com – The Vigil 2021.

The Vigil 2021
The Vigil is executive produced by Jason Blum through his Blumhouse Productions banner. The film premiered at the 2019 Toronto International Film Festival in September 2019 and had a limited theatrical release in the United Kingdom, Ireland, and France in July 2020. It is set to be released in select theaters in the United States and on Digital on February 26, 2021.
