It is executive produced by Celia Costas, Stephen Garrett, Bruna Papandrea, Per Saari, Nicole Kidman, David E. Kelley and Susanne Bier. The series is based on the 2014 novel You Should Have Known by Jean Hanff Korelitz.
The miniseries was set to premiere on HBO on May 10, 2020. However, its airing was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic and it premiered instead on October 25, 2020. The show stars Nicole Kidman, Hugh Grant, Donald Sutherland, Edgar Ramirez, Noah Jupe and Lily Rabe.
