I feel like it was such an equal Battle all the way around. Just based on the charisma Tamara has, I think I would go with her. She just has that thing about her and is not afraid to put it on full display when she gets out on stage. And that goes a long way.
Gwen Stefani’s comment
Wow! That was so interesting. Well, I guess I’ll start with Olivia. You have such a beautiful tone in your voice. It’s really different. With Tamara, there’s something so free and sort of punk. You do all these runs, but it’s kind of wild. There was something really intriguing about it. Just ’cause I’d be really curious to see what would develop. I would probably go with Tamara.
John Legend’s comment
Both of you were fantastic. I got so much joy from coaching both of you. And you have different voices. Olivia, yours has such clarity and power, whereas Tamara has so much depth and vibrato. And yours [Olivia] is almost no vibrato. They’re both really effective ways of presenting a song. It’s just different. So, that makes this even more difficult.
Kelly Clarkson’s comment
Olivia, do you like Jessie J? Okay, I was like, “I hear that inspiration.” I actually love her. A lot of her approach and attack on a vocal is very similar to how you kind of carry yours out. And then you go in that pretty head voice. It’s really, really nice.
And Tamara, I turned for you. Your voice is, it’s very warm. Your tone, it’s incredible. It’s almost the same depth and roundness wherever you are in your vocal range. You’re both completely different, but I do think that you’re both amazing.
