Desz, the power of your voice fills the room — every crack, every crevice.
Joseph, it could be easy for you to be blown out of the room with a voice like hers. But, the more you listen, the more you realize, “Man, he’s doing so many neat runs. His pitch is great.” You just have a softer tone. You know what I mean? And so, great job.
Gwen Stefani’s comment
Desz, there’s just a power and confidence. And then, your singing, for me, is so effortless. I kept wanting to stay on this side.
But, Joseph, your voice, for me, is so beautiful. It’s so high and it’s so pretty. And then, you were taking it even higher going into your head voice. So, I think you’re super talented. You would just maybe need to work on the confidence ’cause the voice itself is — is incredible. And I’m a fan.
John Legend’s comment
Desz, as you know, I really wanted you on my team. You just continue to show us what a gifted vocalist you are and I think you’re a real force to be reckoned with on this show.
And then, Joseph, you have that kind of “gentle giant” vibe. Your voice is soulful, and it’s got kind of floating quality which is really beautiful.

Well, I agree. I think you have such a beautiful voice, Joseph. It’s like an angel that sings R&B. Your runs are so effortless. And there was a little pitchiness and I saw it in your eyes. He was like, “Oh, no!”
And, Desz, I mean, you are powerful. Your eyes command attention. Your smile commands attention. Like, everything about you. It’s hard not to keep watching you. It’s like I’m watching a warrior vocalist.
