Selena: The Series (Spanish: Selena: la serie) is an American biographical drama web TV series based on the life of the unforgettable Tejano singer Selena Quintanilla, aka Selena, that is set to premiere on Netflix on December 4, 2020.
The series will present the story of Selena’s life, from her childhood to her rise to fame. It is the version authorized by Selena’s family, unlike El secreto de Selena, an unauthorized version by María Celeste Arrarás, which the family publicly condemned.
Selena: The Series is produced by Campanario Entertainment with Selena’s father (Abraham) and sister (Suzette), from a screenplay by Moisés Zamora for Netflix.
American actress Christian Serratos (age 30) plays the titular character. Serratos plays Rosita Espinosa in AMC’s The Walking Dead TV series and is also known for playing Suzie Crabgrass in the Nickelodeon series Ned’s Declassified School Survival Guide and Angela Weber in The Twilight Saga series.
