Painter tells the story of Joanne Marco (Betsy Randle), a wealthy art collector and benefactor, who has been searching for an artistic genius. She discovers a young, unknown painter named Aldis Browne (Eric Ladin) and becomes obsessed with him and his talent. Joanne soon invites Aldis to move into her mansion so she can foster his talent. But when Aldis’ first solo show was deemed a failure, Aldis leaves Joanne’s home and the city. He is lured back by Joanne with a frightening gift from his past.
