Can mini magician Aidan McCann get inside the mind of David Walliams? Aidan performed live from his bedroom in Ireland for the semi-finals round on Britain’s Got Talent 2020 (Series 14).
Aidan earned a standing ovation from all the BGT judges for his amazing mind trick routine. But the kid magician did not get into the circle of the top three acts of semi-final 5, with Nabil Abdulrashid ultimately winning the judges’ vote and advancing to the final. Like the rest of the semi-finalists who did not win the judges’ vote, Aidan still has a chance of getting a slot in the final if he gets enough public votes.

Britain’s Got Talent (aka BGT) is a televised British talent show competition, and part of the global Got Talent franchise created by Simon Cowell. It is hosted by Anthony McPartlin and Declan Donnelly (also known as Ant and Dec). The show premiered on June 9, 2007 following the success of America’s Got Talent the previous year.
Every year, contestants of any age can audition for the contest with whatever talent they wish to demonstrate. Auditionees seek to impress a panel of judges – at present, consisting of Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon, and David Walliams – in order to secure a place in the live rounds of BGT.
Britain’s Got Talent 2020 (Series 14) began broadcasting in the UK on April 11, 2020. The series was split into two parts because of the Covid-19 pandemic or coronavirus outbreak and the resulting lockdown issued by the British government. The first half aired audition episodes between April to May, which had been filmed before the national lockdown. The second half is currently airing the remaining episodes across September to October.
Production on the second half of the series saw considerable changes including a change in the voting system. All episodes being aired weekly – a first in the programme’s history – and all semi-finals are pre-recorded.
Before the first semi-finals were to begin, Simon Cowell sustained a back injury following an electric bike accident, and was replaced by Ashley Banjo as a stand-in.
