Kenadi Dodds performed an amazing original song called “Dancing Through The Stars” during the Quarterfinals of America’s Got Talent 2020 (Season 15).
Chasing her dreams of becoming a country superstar, the 15-year-old Kenadi from Utah, sang a song she composed for her sister, while accompanying herself on the piano. She said it would mean the world to her and her family if she got voted through.
During her audition, Kenadi revealed that her family is afflicted with an eye disease called retinitis pigmentosa which leads to blindness, and she’s the only one in her family who does not have it. Her little sister wanted to see Kenadi on the AGT stage before she gets totally blind.

Judges’ Comments:
Heidi Klum said Kenadi is great and did a fantastic job. She said no matter what happens in the results show, the music world will take notice and will call for Kenadi. “I have it in my gut, I think you’re absolutely amazing. I also love the bond you have with your sister. I saw the sign you were doing at the end, I hope she did too. That was beautiful.”
Howie Mandel said he loves Kenadi and thinks she’s an amazing talent. He also said he loves the bond that Kenadi has with her family. But Howie said the song didn’t do it for him personally. As he was explaining why, Heidi interrupted him and said Howie never liked original songs. In reply, Howie said he gave a Golden Buzzer to Grace Vanderwaal. The virtual audience also reacted loudly against Howie’s comments. Sofia and Terry Crews did not agree with him too. Howie concluded by saying he’s not voting and that the people at home are gonna be the ones to decide.
Sofia Vergara said Howie has been very negative for the day. She thinks Kenadi is amazing and spectacular and has such a beautiful family. She said she liked Kenadi’s first song better but still thinks the song she just performed was beautiful. Sofia said, “I think people are gonna love you and I hope that people vote for you tonight because you deserve it. Your story is fantastic.”
America’s Got Talent Season 15
This season is most notable for its production being affected by the COVID-19 or coronavirus pandemic in 2020, which impacted audition sessions. The program initially moved to filming without an audience present at auditions, before ultimately suspending production. Auditions were later allowed to continue, but via online applications from those quarantined in their homes.
The production staff decided to push through with the broadcast as planned and premiere on May 26.
Production resumed the week of June 22, 2020, filming on a film backlot in Simi Valley, decorated to look like a drive-in movie theater. Everyone, including the judges and host Terry Crews, wore masks when not on camera. The Judge Cuts round was reduced from four episodes to one, and the acts were reduced from 72 to 60. The live shows will feature 44 acts over four weeks, compared to 36 acts appearing over three weeks last season.
Producers decided to include a virtual audience for the Live Shows and Universal Studios Hollywood was chosen as the venue for performances to take place.
Prior to the first quarter-final’s live broadcast, Cowell became involved in an electric bike accident that left him with a severe back injury. Cowell had surgery to repair the damage, and the production staff recruited guest judges like Kelly Clarkson and Kenan Thompson to stand in for him until doctors would allow him to return to AGT.
