Infidel follows an outspoken American journalist (Jim Caviezel), who is kidnapped by members of the Iranian regime while he is in Cairo, Egypt making speeches. He is then taken to the Middle East and put on trial for erroneous and phony spying charges. His wife (Claudia Karvan), a State Department official, tries to use her influence to get the American government involved to get her husband back. But she soon realizes that the American government will not get involved. So, she is forced to go to the Middle East to search for him herself.
Infidel is an action/adventure Film directed by Cyrus Nowrasteh and starring Jim Caviezel and Claudia Karvan. This is the second film which Nowrasteh directs Jim Caviezel after The Stoning of Soraya M. (2008). Both films deal with corruption in the Middle East, specifically in Iran and the Iranian regime. In both films Jim Caviezel plays a journalist whose rights are infringed upon and violated by the Iranian antagonists.

Infidel was filmed in Jordan in 2018 and had a limited release in November of 2019. Cloudburst Entertainment is set to release it on September 18, 2020. It will also be distributed by D’Souza Media, Dinesh D’Souza’s movie production and distribution group.
