Jarren performed a stunning version of “Just the Way You Are” by Billy Joel during the Blind Auditions of The Voice Kids UK 2020 (Series 4).
“Just the Way You Are” is the lead single from Billy Joel’s fifth studio album The Stranger (1977). It peaked at number 3 on the US Billboard Hot 100 and topped the Billboard Easy Listening Chart. The song garnered two Grammy Awards for Record of the Year and Song of the Year in 1979.
Jarren’s rendition was enough for Coach Danny Jones to immediately turn his chair. As the only Coach with a remaining slot in his team, Jones looked like he hit the jackpot and cheered excitedly with Jarren’s automatic inclusion in his team.

Danny Jones took a gamble by waiting for the last contestant in the Auditions round to fill up his team. The McFly star said he has been trying to get a singer like Jarren on board. “I’ve been fighting, pitching for a singer like you, all through these blind auditions. And finally I’ve got you on my Team Danny, and I’m so happy about that,” Jones told the aspiring 13-year-old singer.
The Voice Kids (British series 4) – The Voice Kids UK is a British TV music competition to find new singing talent. The fourth series premiered on July 11, 2020, and will be broadcast on a weekly basis on ITV. As with the previous three series, it will be hosted by Emma Willis. Danny Jones, Pixie Lott and will.i.am return as coaches, but Jessie J has been replaced by Paloma Faith, who was also previously a coach on the adult version of the show.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the pre-recorded episodes – featuring the auditions and battle rounds – were filmed a few weeks before the nationwide lockdown in March 2020. No information on the live shows has been given yet.
