First One In follows Madi Cooke (Kat Foster), who is labeled an eco-terrorist after she accidentally killed an endangered animal on a popular reality TV show. She is fired from her job and then changes her look and last name to interview with Bobbi (Georgia King), who heads Mason Agents – the #1 real estate firm in Connecticut. But Bobbi only hires women who play tennis, in an effort to maintain championship status in a local, annual tournament.
Madi joins a clinic at Acme Indoor Tennis to practice and meets Tennis Pro Fernando (Josh Segarra), Jane (Catherine Curtin), Ceecee (Emy Coligado), Preeti (Aneesh Sheth) and Valentina (Karina Arroyave). She also renews her strained friendship with her best friend and former high school tennis partner, Ollie (Alana O’Brien). Madi and her underdogs take on Bobbi’s Mason Agents at their Elite tennis club, where Madi will have to find her grit or lose everything.
First One In is written and directed by filmmaker Gina O’Brien, in her feature directorial debut.
