Enola Holmes chronicles the adventures of Sherlock Holmes’ (Henry Cavill) teenage sister Enola (Millie Bobby Brown), as she attempts to solve the sudden disappearance of her mother (Helena Bonham Carter). She puts her sleuthing ability to the test, and in the process, upstaging her more famous older brother.
This 2020 mystery film is based on the book series of the same name by Nancy Springer. Enola Holmes is directed by Harry Bradbeer (Fleabag, Killing Eve) and written by Jack Thorne. Millie Bobby Brown stars as the title character, while also serving as a producer on the film. Henry Cavill, Sam Claflin, and Helena Bonham Carter are cast in supporting roles.

The film adaptation of the Nancy Springer book series was in development at Legendary Pictures by February 2019, with Millie Bobby Brown producing and starring in the title role of Enola Holmes and Harry Bradbeer set to direct. The cast was completed in July. Filming began in London and also took place at Luton Hoo in Bedfordshire.
In April 2020, Netflix acquired distribution rights to the film, as opposed to a theatrical release by Warner Bros. Pictures due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The film is scheduled for release on Netflix on September 23, 2020.
