Katherine Ryan (age 37) is a Canadian comedian, writer, presenter, and actress based in the United Kingdom. In 2015, she replaced Steve Jones as the presenter of Hair on BBC Two. She has appeared on numerous TV series in the UK, including the sitcoms Campus and Episodes.
As a stand-up comedian, Ryan appeared as a featured act and as a lead act on BBC’s Live at the Apollo. She has had two live stand-up specials released on Netflix – Katherine Ryan: In Trouble (2017) and Katherine Ryan: Glitter Room (2019).
Fresh off her Netflix special “In Trouble”, she presented Netflix with an idea based on her life as a single mother living in London.
Katherine Ryan is the creator, executive producer and writer of The Duchess. Dave Becky, Ed Macdonald, Josh Lieberman, Murray Ferguson, and Petra Fried serve as executive producers alongside Ryan.
The Duchess will have six episodes which will be released on September 11, 2020 on Netflix.
