Project Power follows an ex-soldier, a teen and a cop, who become allies as they hunt for the source behind a dangerous new pill that grants users temporary superpowers.
On the streets of New Orleans, word spreads about a mysterious new pill that unlocks superpowers unique to each user. The catch: You don’t know what will happen until you take it. While some develop superpowers like bulletproof skin, invisibility, and super strength, others exhibit a deadlier reaction.
When the pill escalates crime within the city to dangerous levels, a local cop (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) teams with a teenage dealer (Dominique Fishback) and a former soldier fueled by a secret vendetta (Jamie Foxx) to fight power with power and risk taking the pill to stop the group responsible for creating it.
Project Power is an American science fiction action crime thriller film directed by Ariel Schulman and Henry Joost and written by Mattson Tomlin. It stars Jamie Foxx, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Dominique Fishback in the main roles alongside Machine Gun Kelly, Rodrigo Santoro, Amy Landecker and Allen Maldonado.

Project Power is produced by Eric Newman and Bryan Unkeless. It is scheduled to be released on August 14, 2020, by Netflix.
Netflix announced in October 2017 that it had acquired Mattson Tomlin’s spec script Power in a bidding war with several other studios. In September 2018, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Jamie Foxx and Dominique Fishback joined the cast of the then-untitled film. From October to December 2018, other stars joined the cast of the film including Rodrigo Santoro, Amy Landecker, Allen Maldonado, Machine Gun Kelly, Casey Neistat, Jim Klock, and Courtney B. Vance, among others. In May 2020, it was announced that “Project Power” would be the film’s official title.
