Made In Italy is a heart-warming father and son story set in glorious Tuscany about London artist Robert (Liam Neeson), who returns to Italy with his estranged son Jack (Micheál Richardson) to make a quick sale of the house they inherited from his late wife. Neither expects to find the villa in such a state of disrepair.
Renovations of the once beautiful villa go badly, with father and son finding themselves at odds. Robert’s lack of DIY experience leads him to seek help from some locals including Kate (Lindsay Duncan), an expat making her living selling villas and who quickly captures his attention. For Jack, the state of the house seems to mirror his search for memories of happier times with his mother.
Jack finds himself falling for Natalia (Valeria Bilello), a vivacious young Italian chef, who restores both body and soul with delights from her local trattoria. But the pair find their relationship in jeopardy from Natalia’s jealous and threatening ex-husband.
As Robert and Jack painstakingly restore the villa to its previous glory, they also start to mend their relationship.
Made in Italy is a British-Italian comedy film, written and directed by James D’Arcy in his directorial debut. It is scheduled to be released in the United States on August 7, 2020.

Made in Italy is produced by Pippa Cross, Sam Tipper-Hale, and Nicola Serra under their CrossDay Productions and Indiana Productions banners, respectively. HanWay Films and Ingenious Media are also producers of the film.
In October 2018, it was announced that Liam Neeson and Micheál Richardson joined the cast of Made in Italy, with James D’Arcy directing from a screenplay he wrote. Lindsay Duncan and Valeria Bilello joined the cast of the film in May 2019.
IFC Films acquired U.S. distribution rights to the film in February 2020.
