Johnny Manuel (age 35) of Team Guy Sebastian performed “Before I Go” by Guy Sebastian during The Showdowns round on The Voice Australia 2020 (Season 9).
“Before I Go” was released as the lead single from Sebastian’s forthcoming ninth studio album. It was released in November 2018 and was certified Platinum in Australia and Netherlands.
Coach Guy Sebastian picked Johnny Manuel as one of his top two artists, along with Timothy Bowen. Both Johnny and Timothy will represent Team Guy in the semi-finals.
The three other artists from Team Guy, namely Stephanie Cole, Adam Ludewig, and Matt Gresham, were eliminated from the competition.

Guy Sebastian described Johnny Manuel as “one of the most incredible singers” he has ever heard. He said he never made it a secret about Johnny being his first choice.
The Voice Australia was renewed for a ninth season right after the end of the eighth season. It was announced that all coaches would return for the new season.
The ninth season of The Voice Australia begun airing on May 24, 2020. For the first time in the show’s history all of the coaches are returning: Delta Goodrem for her eighth, Kelly Rowland and Boy George for their fourth and Guy Sebastian for his second. Following the exit of Sonia Kruger, Darren McMullen, who hosted the first three seasons, returns with new co-host, Renee Bargh.
The show is part of the television franchise The Voice and is structured as three phases: blind auditions, battle rounds and live performance shows. The show added another phase in 2017: the knockouts between the blind auditions and the battles. The winner receives a recording contract with Universal Music or EMI (2019) as well as A$100,000 and other prizes.
