Don’t Look Deeper Season 1
Set in Merced, California, “fifteen minutes into the future,” Don’t Look Deeper follows a high school senior named Aisha (Helena Howard), who can’t seem to shake the feeling that something about her just isn’t right. She eventually finds out she’s not human. This revelation of what she really is, where she comes from, and who’s looking for her, leads to a series of events that suddenly puts her entire life in jeopardy.
Don’t Look Deeper will have 14 “quick bite” episodes, which are all directed by Catherine Hardwicke (Twilight, Red Riding Hood).

Don’t Look Deeper is created by Jeffrey Lieber and Charlie McDonnell, with the former acting as showrunner. Catherine Hardwicke also serves as Executive Producer along with McDonnell, Lieber, Doug Liman, Jed Weintrob, Julina Tatlock, Kathleen Grace, and Laura Schwartz. Michael McGarry serves as producer while Shayda Frost is co-producer of the series.
American actress Helena Howard (age 22) plays the lead role of Aisha in the series. Howard is best known for her breakout role in the film Madeline’s Madeline, which was hailed by IndieWire as one of the 50 best performances of the 2010s decade.
American actor, author, director, producer and writer Don Cheadle (age 55) is also starring in the series. Cheadle became known in the 1990s with notable roles in Devil in a Blue Dress (1995), Rosewood (1997), and Boogie Nights (1997). His film credits include Out of Sight (1998), Traffic (2000), and The Ocean’s Trilogy (2001-2007), and Hotel Rwanda (2004). He rose to global recognition as the superhero War Machine in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and appeared in Iron Man 2 (2010), Iron Man 3 (2013), Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015), Captain America: Civil War (2016), Avengers: Infinity War (2018), Captain Marvel (2019), and Avengers: Endgame (2019). Cheadle won a a Golden Globe Award in 2013 for his role in the TV series House of Lies and a Primetime Emmy Award nomination in 2019 for his role in the series Black Monday.
Don’t Look Deeper will be shown on Quibi on July 27, 2020. Quibi is an American short-form streaming platform that generates content for viewing on mobile devices. It delivers “quick bites” of original content featuring the world’s biggest stars. Episodes are 10 minutes or less. The content utilizes “Turnstyle” technology in order to dynamically switch between portrait and landscape viewing formats.
