Mighty Oak tells the story of Gina Jackson (Janel Parrish), a band manager who struggles after losing her brother Vaughn (Levi Dylan) in a fatal car accident while traveling to a gig. Vaughn was the lead singer of their band called Army of Love.
A decade later, Gina meets a 10-year-old music prodigy named Oak Scoggins (Tommy Ragen), who seems to possess the same qualities as her late brother. Convinced that Oak must be the reincarnation of Vaughn, Gina pulls her life back together and try to reunite the band with Oak as its new front man.
Mighty Oak is a comedy-drama directed by Irish American filmmaker and producer Sean McNamara (Soul Surfer, The Legend of Galgameth, P.U.N.K.S., Race to Space, Bratz, The Miracle Season, Orphan Horse, Raise Your Voice). The screenplay is written by Matt R. Allen, inspired by the music of real-life prodigy Tommy Ragen, who plays the title role in the film.
