Todd Tilghman (age 41), a pastor from Meridian, Mississippi, performed his original song, “Long Way Home” during the Finale Performances on The Voice 2020 (Season 18).
Coach Blake Shelton said Todd is such an incredible talent and said, “You have something that is so unique about you that you can take an original song and breathe so much life into it that it just feels familiar. That’s your gift, man. That’s how easy it is for you to speak to the audience.”
The four-chair-turner competed against the other Top 5 contenders, namely Toneisha Harris, Thunderstorm Artis, CammWess, and Micah Iverson in the Finale.
Todd Tilghman of Team Blake was voted by the public as the winner of The Voice 2020, while Toneisha Harris (also from Team Blake) and Thunderstorm Artis from Team Nick Jonas came in as runners-up. CammWess of Team John Legend got 4th place and Micah Iverson of Team Kelly Clarkson came in at Fifth place.

Season 18 of The Voice premiered at 8PM on February 24, 2020 on NBC and will air Mondays at 8 PM. John Legend, Kelly Clarkson and Blake Shelton returned as coaches for their third, fifth and eighteenth seasons, respectively. Nick Jonas joined the panel as a new coach, replacing Gwen Stefani. Meanwhile, Carson Daly returned for his eighteenth season as host.
Because of the coronavirus pandemic, production has done some adjustments. For the first time ever, there were only three weeks of Live Shows: the Playoffs, the Semi-Final, and the Finale.
The three weeks of live shows aired as lives done at each contestant’s and coach’s home.
As to the voting system, the television audience voted to save their favorite artists and artists who received the fewest votes became eligible for the “Instant Save”. America then saved their favorite performer by voting on “The Voice” app (available on iOS and Android) or NBC.com. The artists with the fewest number of votes were “sent home” or eliminated each week.
