Night Angel performed “Black Velvet” by Canadian singer-songwriter Alannah Myles during “The Battle of The Sixes: The Final 6” round on The Masked Singer 2020 (Season 3).
“Black Velvet” was released in December 1989 as one of four singles from Myles’ 1989 eponymous album from Atlantic Records. It topped the Billboard Hot 100 charts in 1990 and reached number one on the Album Rock Tracks chart. Myles won the 1991 Grammy for Best Female Rock Vocal Performance for the song and the 1990 Juno Award for Single of the Year.
Night Angel’s rendition of Myles’ hit song stunned The Masked Singer judges Ken Jeong, Robin Thicke, Jenny McCarthy, Nicole Scherzinger and guest panelist Gordon Ramsay.
Nicole said she never heard Night Angel sound so good. “You were coming for Turtle and Frog tonight with that performance there.” Jenny McCarthy said Night Angel was coming for the whole music industry. Jenny thinks it’s the best performance of Masked Singer ever.
Night Angel earned a SAFE vote from the audience for her amazing performance and advanced to The Masked Singer Quarter Finals.

When it came to guessing who’s behind the Night Angel Mask, Ken Jeong thinks that Night Angel is Rozonda Thomas aka Chilli from the American girl group TLC. Jenny McCarthy examined the clues that were given so far and thinks that Night Angel is Kandi Buruss. Nicole said it couldn’t be Kandi because she is in Atlanta shooting Housewives of Atlanta. Nicole guessed that it could be Dawn Robinson of En Vogue.
Many fans of The Masked Singer have been saying all along that Night Angel is American singer-songwriter and TV personality Kandi Buruss (aka Kandi). But there are also some fans who came up with other names including Stevie Nicks, Brandy, Joan Jett, and Brandy Clark.
