The Masked Singer judges Ken Jeong, Robin Thicke, Nicole Scherzinger, and Jenny McCarthy were moved by Turtle’s rendition.
Turtle won second place in The Masked Singer 2020, losing to Night Angel in the Finale. Third place went to Frog.
Before he was unmasked, the panelists were given their last chance to guess the celebrity behind the Turtle Mask. Ken said Turtle is Nick Jonas while Robin guessed Adam Lambert. Nicole and Jenny went with Jesse McCartney.
The majority of The Masked Singer fans have been saying since the first time Turtle appeared on the show, that the celebrity behind the mask is American singer, songwriter, and actor Jesse McCartney.

Before his identity was revealed, a video with several clues about the celebrity behind the Turtle Mask was presented in the show.
Jesse McCartney (age 33) became known in the late 1990s on the daytime drama All My Children as JR Chandler. He later joined boy band Dream Street, and eventually launched a solo musical career. He has come up with 4 studio albums, with the debut Beautiful Soul peaking at number 15 on the US Billboard 200 and being certified platinum by the RIAA. Additionally, McCartney has appeared on several TV shows such as Law & Order: SVU, Summerland, and Greek, and on several films like Beware the Gonzo, Chernobyl Diaries, 88, and The Campus Code, among others.
McCartney also is known for lending his voice as Theodore in Alvin and the Chipmunks and its sequels, and other characters in several animated films. He is also the voice of Robin/Nightwing in the animated series Young Justice and Roxas and Ventus in the video game series Kingdom Hearts developed by Square Enix.
After Turtle’s unmasking, several clues were explained. The bloody heart in a jar is a clue to the hit song “Bleeding Love” which Jesse co-wrote for Leona Lewis. The various comic book clues are hints to his role in “Young Justice”. The Dover Sole map of Seoul and shoe sole are clues to his album “Beautiful Soul.”
McCartney said he is stunned that he’s in the finale and said being on The Masked Singer is an experience he’ll never forget.
In the exclusive interview, McCartney said, “I had such an incredible time working with everyone, from the choreographers to the vocal directors to just being on stage in this ridiculous outfit – it was just so much fun. I literally couldn’t have asked for a better experience. And to make it this far, I’m overwhelmed with joy.”
McCartney said he’s going to miss the anonymity and cruising around on a surfboard. He also said one of the most awkward and interesting parts of making The Masked Singer is that one can’t go around without security around him. On the other hand, one of the coolest things is that he got to be anonymous the whole time. He couldn’t post about it on social media nor say anything about it to his next of kin. The hardest part is lying to his family about being on the show.
The one thing McCartney took away from doing the show is that “you can’t take yourself too seriously” because it’s all about having fun. He also learned that he has chosen the right path, that he’s a performer through and through.
