Ryan Tricks (age 28), a mind reader-magician from Britain, performed an unbelievable mind trick routine on Simon Cowell and Howie Mandel during the Auditions round on America’s Got Talent 2020 (Season 15).
Seeing that Howie and Simon are BFFs, Ryan tested the “subconscious” connection between them. At every step of the “subconscious” test, Simon and Howie proved to be in sync 100% of the time – they chose the same card from different decks of cards, moved their hands in the same direction while one is blindfolded and Howie even correctly guessed while still in a blindfold, that Simon was holding a cookie in his hand. After the test, Ryan said Simon and Howie will be BFFs forever.
The incredible audition of Ryan Tricks on America’s Got Talent earned a standing ovation from the audience. Simon Cowell said there’s something about Ryan that he really likes. “It was very strange sitting down,” he said. Looking at Howie, Simon continued, “I just had this really eerie, fantastic experience, I sort of loved you a little bit more after that.”
Ryan got 4 YES votes from Heidi Klum, Howie Mandel, Sofia Vergara and Simon Cowell.

Ryan Tricks, whose real name is Ryan Hicks, appeared on Britain’s Got Talent in 2013. Although he passed the auditions with 3 yeses, he was dropped before the Live Shows. Ryan then focused on YouTube, showing videos of mostly street magic and also giving back to the homeless and other people in the community. He starred in the 6-episode series “Ryan Tricks On The Streets” for BBC Three (online) in 2018, and also starred in “Dirty Tricks” produced by Vice Media on Channel 5 in 2019.
America’s Got Talent (AGT) Season 15 premiered in the United States on May 26, 2020, on NBC. For this season, AGT judges are Simon Cowell, Howie Mandel, returning Heidi Klum, and newcomer Sofia Vergara.
This season is most notable for its production being affected by the COVID-19 or coronavirus pandemic in 2020, which impacted audition sessions.
