Peninsula follows the story of Jung-seok (Gang Dong-won), a former soldier who previously escaped the diseased wasteland. He relives the horror when assigned to a covert operation with two simple objectives: retrieve and survive. When his team unexpectedly stumbles upon survivors, their lives will depend on whether the best—or worst—of human nature prevails in the direst of circumstances.
The movie is set four years after South Korea’s total decimation in Train to Busan, the zombie thriller that captivated audiences worldwide. Acclaimed director Yeon Sang-ho brings Peninsula to the screen, the next nail-biting chapter in his post-apocalyptic world. The screenplay was written by Park Joo-Suk and Yeon Sang-ho.

Initial reports about the Train to Busan sequel suggest that original actor Gong Yoo will make some kind of cameo in the sequel. Considering his fate in Train To Busan, he will likely reappear as a zombie.
Peninsula is scheduled to be released in France in August 2020. Well Go USA will release Peninsula in US theaters later this year.
