The Main Event follows the story of 11-year-old Leo Thompson (Seth Carr), who discovers a magical wrestling mask that grants him super strength and uses it to enter a WWE competition. With the support of his grandmother (Tichina Arnold), Leo will do whatever it takes to achieve his dream of becoming a WWE Superstar.
This American comedy film is directed by Jay Karas, from a screenplay by Larry Postel and starring Seth Carr, Tichina Arnold, Ken Marino and Adam Pally. It is scheduled to be released by Netflix on April 10, 2020.

In June 2019, it was announced that production on The Main Event would begin that week in Vancouver. It was also announced that Seth Carr, Tichina Arnold, Ken Marino and Adam Pally would star in the film, with appearances from some WWE Superstars.
Young actor Seth Carr (age 12) plays the lead role of Leo Thompson. Carr is known for his roles in television shows/films such as Ray Donovan, Superstore, Bosch, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Code Black, Nickelodeon’s new comedy series “Knight Squad as Fizzwick. He is also featured in Marvel’s Black Panther as young Killmonger and as Gabrielle Union’s son Glover Russell in ” Breaking In”.
American actress, comedian, and singer Tichina Arnold (age 50) portrays the role of Leo’s grandmother in The Main Event. Arnold began her career as a child actor, appearing in supporting roles in the films Little Shop of Horrors (1986) and How I Got into College (1989). She then became known through several TV shows including Martin, Everybody Hates Chris, Happily Divorced and Survivor’s Remorse. Arnold currently plays Tina Butler in the CBS sitcom series The Neighborhood.
