In the US cold west, Motel Acacia is tasked with exterminating immigrants for the government through a bed haunted with the spirit of a Filipino tree demon, that eats men and impregnates women. A young Filipino man, JC (JC Santos) , is groomed by his tyrannical Caucasian father (Jan Bijvoet) to take over the horrific business.
Motel Acacia is directed by Malaysian director Bradley Liew (Singing Graveyards) and co-written by Liew with Bianca Balbuena.

This horror movie features an international ensemble cast composed of Filipino actors JC Santos and Agot Isidro, Belgian actor Jan Bijvoet, Malaysia’s Bront Palarae, Thailand’s Vithaya Pansringarm and Australian actors Talia Zucker and Will Jaymes.
Motel Acacia took four years to develop, with script development taking a year, according to writer and producer Bianca Balbuena in an interview with Variety. The film was also pitched to different outfits for partnership and fund support. It is now a co-venture between several companies from the Philippines (Epicmedia, Black Sheep, Globe Studios), Taiwan (Mandarin Vision), Singapore (Potocol and Tier Pictures), Slovenia (Studio Virc), Croatia and Malaysia.
Bradley Liew’s Motel Acacia was nominated for Asian Future Best Film Award at the Tokyo International Film Festival in 2019.
