Megan Danielle (age 17) of Douglasville, Georgia sang a cover of “Remedy” by English singer-songwriter Adele during the Blind Auditions of The Voice 2020 (Season 18).
“Remedy” is a track from Adele’s third studio album “25”. Co-written with Ryan Tedder, the song is about Adele’s best friend, her grandparents, her boyfriend and her son.
Among The Voice judges/coaches, it was only Kelly Clarkson who turned for Megan Danielle. Although Kelly was ecstatic that she got Megan, she couldn’t believe why the others didn’t turn, considering Megan’s beautiful voice. She exclaimed, “What is wrong with you all,” to the other judges. She thought Megan deserved four chairs.
The Voice fans are wondering if Kelly Clarkson can make a repeat of making a winner out of a one-chair turner like she did with Jake Hoot, winner of The Voice Season 17.

Kelly said she doesn’t even know what Megan’s musical influences are (Megan said, “You!”), that was like Adele, but like a little country in there.”
When John pointed out that Megan said Kelly is her influence, Kelly couldn’t believe it and thought John was kidding. But when she learned it was true, she said, “I love you, what is your name!”
Kelly reacted to how young Megan Danielle was when she learned she was just 17. Kelly said, “I feel so blessed right now. I thought you deserved four chairs. You have a really, really beautiful voice. The tone is incredible.”
Asked if she listens to country, Megan said she loves Blake and he was actually her second choice. Then she said, “I’m disappointed in you, Blake.” She said Kelly was her first choice and Blake was her second choice.
Kelly continued, “I cannot wait to work with you on my team. I’m gonna let them dig themselves out of their hole for a minute.”
Nick Jonas commented that he thought Megan was phenomenal. “Your tone is really incredible.” Learning that Meghan is still in high school and waiting tables at her mom’s restaurant, Nick is wondering how she will balance everything. He recalled how when he was very busy when he was 17 – finishing high school, touring, and at the same time doing a film called Camp Rock 2. He said that’s a lot of pressure and work and he hopes Megan doesn’t make the same mistake he did. He got overwhelmed and lost sight and some of his relationships got complicated.
“It was really tough,” Nick said. He said those should have been the best moments of his life. So his advice is for Megan to enjoy it and live every moment. “Wake up every day and be thankful for what you have.”
John Legend told Megan that he loves the tone of her voice and its growl and twang. “I think you’ll benefit greatly from being coached by Kelly,” he said.
Blake Shelton joked that Megan sounded like someone who thinks of him as second best. “I really do love your voice. Outside of the fact that Nick is afraid you’re gonna end up in prison, I think you’re gonna do great on this show.”
The Voice is an American singing competition TV series which premiered during the spring television cycle on April 26, 2011 on NBC, and expanded into the fall cycle with the premiere of the third season on September 10, 2012. Based on the original The Voice of Holland, and part of The Voice franchise it has aired seventeen seasons and aims to find currently unsigned singing talent (solo or duets, professional and amateur) contested by aspiring singers, age 13 or over, drawn from public auditions.
Season 18 of The Voice premiered at 8PM on February 24, 2020 on NBC. John Legend, Kelly Clarkson and Blake Shelton returned as coaches for their third, fifth and eighteenth seasons, respectively. Nick Jonas joined the panel as a new coach, replacing Gwen Stefani. Meanwhile, Carson Daly returned for his eighteenth season as host.
The Voice usually airs on Mondays at 8 PM, but its second episode is scheduled for broadcast on Tuesday, February 25, 2020.
