This documentary series from filmmaker Brian Knappenberger (Nobody Speak: Trials of the Free Press) features six episodes, providing details about the tragic death of Gabriel Fernandez, the ensuing trials of his mother and her boyfriend, and the complex systems that failed to protect him.
The six episodes are titled as follows: A Shock to the System, Evil in This Courtroom, Failure at All Levels, Death Has Got Him by the Hand, Improper Regard or Indifference, and Gabriel’s Voice.
The docuseries was filmed in association with UC Berkeley’s Investigative Reporting Program and Common Sense Media.
