After their father’s untimely death, Nicholas and his two half-sisters are left to cope with not only a devastating loss, but also the realization that Nicholas is the one who will have to rise to the occasion and hold it all together.
Centers on Nicholas (Josh Thomas), a typical 25-year-old still living at home with his single dad and two teenage half-sisters, who is not particularly helpful in raising his siblings, one of which has autism. However, when their dad becomes terminally ill, the girls have to cope with not only a devastating loss but also the realization that Nicholas is the one who will have to hold it all together.
Nicholas wishes he could call an adult! After the death of their father, Nicholas, Matilda and Genevieve struggle to return to their daily – and nightly – routines. Navigating the stay-at-home parent life is harder than Nicholas thought.
Matilda wants to get white-girl-wasted! Genevieve’s low-key birthday party leaves Nicholas, Alex and Matilda banished to the guest house. In the main house, Tellulah turns things up a notch. Nicholas is stuck being the responsible adult.

Josh Thomas is an Australian comedian, actor and writer living in Melbourne. In 2005, he won the Melbourne International Comedy Festival’s Raw Comedy Competition. He has since appeared on television numerous times, including as a regular and Generation Y team captain on Network Ten’s Talkin’ ‘Bout Your Generation. In 2013, Thomas created the award-winning ABC2 and Pivot television series Please Like Me, which he also co-wrote and starred in.
Thomas was born in Blackwater, Queensland, the son of Rebecca and Mike Thomas. He lived in Chapel Hill and Westlake in Brisbane’s western suburbs and attended Kenmore State High School, graduating in 2004. He studied for a Bachelor of Creative Industries, majoring in Television at the Queensland University of Technology, but dropped out after one year.
