With her original song ‘I Love’ in tow, the judges of The X Factor: The Band can’t help but fall in love with Jess Folley, a 16-year-old from Essex whose biggest fan is her granddad.
Simon Cowell said he loves the ambition and determination he sees in Jess Folley and that he’s really impressed. Nicole Scherzinger copied Simon’s classic comment saying, “I don’t like you…I love you,” which brought out a sigh of relief from Jess.
Shahid Khan aka Naughty Boy, thinks Jess Folley belongs in a girl band because the message behind her song is to empower and he said such songs are so needed.
Jess Folley will now advance to the next level of The X Factor: The Band.
The X Factor: The Band is an upcoming special edition of British reality talent competition The X Factor, which premiered December 9, 2019 on ITV. The series was announced on November 4, 2019 as a replacement for a planned All Stars spin-off series, which was originally supposed to air following The X Factor: Celebrity in late-2019.
The format will see Simon Cowell and entertainer Nicole Scherzinger compete to find the best new boyband and girl band, with contestants auditioning in front of industry experts and guest judges including Leona Lewis, Naughty Boy, and Ella Eyre.
The Band is expected to have four episodes which will air on 9, 11 and 13 December, with a live finale at the Resorts World Arena in Birmingham on December 15, 2019.
The series was first reported in early 2019 as being The X Factor: All Stars, as the regular series is being put on hiatus due to declining ratings. But in November 2019, it was announced that the proposed All Stars series had been axed in favour of The X Factor: The Band.
The new X Factor spin-off will see acts audition to form part of a girl group and boy band. The news came just weeks after former X Factor winners Little Mix announced their own plans for a similar series, Little Mix: The Search, on BBC One in 2020.
The auditions take place at Syco Music headquarters in London, in front of the judges and industry experts.
Dermot O’Leary will be returning to host the programme. Cowell is judging the programme alongside Nicole Scherzinger who has previously served as a judge on the main version of the programme as well as judging the recently aired celebrity version.
