On Episode 5 of The Masked Singer (Season 2), Penguin was unmasked and eliminated from the competition.
This time around, Judge Jenny McCarthy guessed it right when she said that “Penguin” is Emmy award winner Sherri Shepherd. Last season, Jenny guessed that Raven was Shepherd, but she got it wrong because Raven turned out to be talk show host Ricki Lake.
The actress, comedian, and TV personality Shepherd said that she was scared joining the show because singing is not her forte. “I thought I was going to pass out every single time on the stage. But I did it and I feel really good,” she said.
Incidentally, it was Jenny’s guess that Raven was Shepherd, that gave Shepherd’s son Jeffrey, the idea that she should join the show. And Shepherd agreed with his suggestion because she wants to try something that scares her.
Shepherd said she had a very cool Penguin outfit. She gets to be a different person with the costume and let her “live a little and be free” and said it is “the best role play ever.”
