Half-Life: Alyx will work with all PC-compatible virtual reality headsets, with owners of the Valve Index able to get the game for free. Features revealed in the game include “gravity gloves”, allowing the player to manipulate gravity.
There is no planned non-VR release for the game, as the gameplay content was developed around virtual reality concepts first and foremost. Half-Life: Alyx will include support for user mods via the Steam Workshop and some support for level editing within the Source 2 engine.

Half-Life: Alyx is an upcoming virtual reality (VR) first-person shooter game developed and published by Valve Corporation. It is the first game in the Half-Life series since Half-Life 2: Episode Two (2007), and takes place between the events of Half-Life and Half-Life 2.
The story follows Alyx Vance, who appears as the player character for the first time, and her father Eli in their fight against an occupation of Earth by the alien Combine. The game was developed using the Source 2 engine, and works with the Valve Index, HTC Vive, Oculus Rift, and Windows Mixed Reality virtual reality headsets. It’s scheduled for release in March 2020.
