Alex Guthrie (age 25) and Injoy Fountain (age 28) of Team Kelly Clarkson performed Marc Broussard’s “Home” during The Voice Battles 2019 (Season 17).
Judges Blake Shelton and John Legend were more impressed with Injoy’s performance than with Alex’s. They said Injoy’s personality shone through and that they enjoyed her performance.
On the other hand, Gwen said that although Injoy was impressive, Alex gave a good battle and took charge of the stage.
Kelly said both are incredibly talented and gifted. She said Alex’s low stuff and highs were cool while she loved Injoy’s moves and riffs. But eventually, Kelly picked Alex as the winner of the battle. Injoy was eliminated from the competition since no judge used their steal for her and Kelly used her Save earlier for another artist.
