The first Game of Thrones prequel starring Naomi Watts is already in the works. Recent reports say, HBO is nearing a pilot order for the second Game of Thrones (GoT) spinoff. This one would focus on Daenerys Targaryen’s (played by Emilia Clarke) family, the House Targaryen.
There are three dragons in Game of Thrones, but in the second GoT prequel, there will be lots of them since the story would be about the rise of the House Targaryen.
The GoT spinoff is set 300 years before the Game of Thrones series. It will not only chronicle the rise of the House Targaryen, but also the beginning of their end.
George R.R. Martin (the ‘Game of Thrones’ book author) co-created this said Game of Thrones spinoff with Ryan J. Condal (the creator of the American science fiction drama TV series titled ‘Colony’; he’s also the screenwriter of the 2014 feature film ‘Hercules’). The spinoff will reportedly be based on the Fire & Blood book by Martin.
