The MerseyGirls, Alesha Dixon’s Golden Buzzer act from BGT 2017, performed to Alessia Cara’s ‘Scars To Your Beautiful’ at the preliminaries of Britain’s Got Talent: The Champions 2019.
It is the first time they have performed in front of the BGT judges since one of their members, Julia Carlile learnt to walk again.
Scoliosis sufferer Julia thought she’d never be able to dance again after her operation. But with the help of Simon Cowell, she was able to get a different kind of surgery that will enable her to pursue her passion in the world of dance.
According to Metro, Simon Cowell paid for Julia to fly out to the US for an operation called body tethering, which is reversible if it doesn’t work.
The MerseyGirls’ amazing performance for the night got a standing ovation from the audience as well as from all BGT judges, namely Simon Cowell, Alesha Dixon, David Walliams, and Amanda Holden. They won the Audience vote and advanced to the finals, joining other finalists Alexa Lauenburger, Bello & Annaliese Nock, and Kseniya Simonova.
