It’s the penultimate episode (Season 6 Episode 12) of Bachelor in Paradise 2019 (Season 6), and the remaining couples have to decide if they would stay with their partners, split up and go home, or get engaged in the end.
Prior to the rose ceremony, the relationship status of the Paradise couples were shown.
Demi and Kristian
Demi Burnett (age 24) and Kristian Haggerty (age 27) appear tense and stressed out, after their emotional conversation on Monday night. Demi admitted her problem in showing physical affection to Kristian and her not being comfortable as a gay woman.
Kristian said she understands Demi and will be patient with her. Demi is worried Kristian will give up on her. Kristian, on the other hand is anxious because none of her other relationships before ever worked out.
Hannah and Dylan
Hannah Godwin (age 24) and Dylan Barbour (age 24) get a date where they attend a children’s backyard birth party. They are so sweet with each other, and after saying “I Love You” to each other, they kiss.
Everyone’s pretty certain these two will get engaged.
Connor and Whitney
Connor Saeli (age 24), who got hurt when Caelynn Miller-Keyes chose to leave with Dean Unglert on Monday, waited for Whitney Fransway (age 27) at the Paradise stairs saying, “If Whitney doesn’t come down in the next five minutes, I’m honestly probably just gonna leave.”
Whitney and Connor hit it off during Chris and Krystal’s wedding, and he was hoping Whitney will come to Paradise.
Well, Whitney did not come down the stairs at that moment. So, Connor said his goodbye to the group.
A few minutes later, Whitney arrived at Paradise. When she learned Connor had left, she decided to follow him at his hotel. A beaming Connor greeted her at the door and the last shot showed the two of them kissing at the balcony.
Nicole and Clay
Nicole Lopez Alvar (age 26) and Clay Harbor (age 31) had a dinner date, where Nicole asked him, “Do you think you’re falling, a little bit.” No definite answer from Clay but he says, “I’m starting to fall in love with you, I am. I just can’t say right now that I’m in love.”
JPJ and Tayshia
John Paul Jones and Tayshia Adams had a sketching session reminiscent of that iconic scene from Titanic, only this time it’s JPJ wearing Speedos and a blue necklace, while Tayshia did the sketch.
Chris and Katie
Chris Bukowski (age 32) and Katie Morton (age 27) are on uncertain terms. Though Chris admits he’s happy with Katie, he’s “thinking way too much,” which Katie knows. And it’s making her miserable.
The Rose Ceremony
Luke Stone (age 29) tried to give the rose to Bri Barnes (age 24), who turned it down, a first in Paradise history. No one else wanted his rejected rose either, so he was sent home.
The ceremony continued. Matt Donald gave his rose to Bri Barnes; Dylan to Hannah; JPJ to Tayshia, Chase McNary to Angela Amezcua, Clay to Nicole, Demi to Kristian and the last rose was given by Chris to Katie.
Sydney Lotuaco, Revian Chang, and Haley Ferguson were sent home, with Sydney saying she expects Matt to be dumped by Brie.
Post-Rose Ceremony
Host Chris Harrison says that couples will now have to decide if they will take their relationship to the “next level”, via romantic overnight date in the Fantasy Suite.
Chase and Angela decided to split, while Brie splits from Matt, saying she thinks Matt only likes her for her looks.
Tayshia and John Paul Jones also split up. JPJ said he’s in love with Tayshia, but Tayshia says she’s not there yet. As JPJ walks away, Tayshia runs after him to say sorry. Then they board separate Escape SUVs to leave Paradise.
Katie and Chris had a hard time deciding to go for it, with Chris crying immediately and saying, “I push people away like that.” He also said sometimes he’s on cloud 9 with Katie and sometimes he just didn’t feel it anymore.
Katie said she’s confused but talks calmly to Chris saying she wants to be with him. But she also said, no one can force them to get married. She understands Chris got burned and have fears and she’s not sure if he is her forever too. But she likes him and makes her happy. That was enough for Chris to take a chance with Katie.
In the end, couples who decided to go to the Fantasy Suite include: Dylan and Hannah, Clay and Nicole, Demi and Kristian, and Katie and Chris.
