The 11-year-old violinist and Golden Buzzer act Tyler Butler-Figueroa performed an amazing version of ‘Break Free’ at the semifinals round of America’s Got Talent 2019 (Season 14). [See: Tyler Butler AGT 2019 audition]
‘Break Free’ is a song by Ariana Grande featuring Zedd. It debuted at number 15 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2014.
The live audience at the Dolby Theatre and AGT judges Simon Cowell, Howie Mandel, Julianne Hough, Gabrielle Union and guest judge Sean Hayes gave Tyler a standing ovation for his incredible performance. Tyler’s fellow cancer survivors, who were in the audience and were with Tyler at the start of his performance also cheered for the young and vibrant violinist.
Judges agreed that Tyler is a brilliant musician. Simon and Julianne noted that Tyler Butler-Figueroa’s life story as a cancer survivor is incredible. Julianne commented, “I just want to say that your greatest trial has now become your greatest triumph. And i hope other people watching this can relate to that and know that they can have that too.”
